GOYA

FRANCISCO DE GOYA LUCIENTES 1746-1828
Goya was born in Fuendetodos near Zaragoza, but lived in Madrid, Rome and Bordeaux. At a young age he was apprenticed to a local artist and later went to Italy to continue his studies. When he returned to Zaragoza, he painted designs for frescos in the Basilica del Pilar in Rococo style, and this kick started his artistic reputation. In the period 1775 to 1792 he painted designs for the royal tapestry factory in Madrid. This further developed his artistic skills and led to his early style of paintings of everyday situations. frescos de Goya - el pilar de zaragoza Goya nació en Fuendetodos, cerca de Zaragoza, pero vivía en Madrid, Roma y Burdeos.
He was a close observer of life and behaviour and was also affected by the movement to the realistic neoclassicism from the more idealistic rococo style. A great admirer of Velazquez, he developed a more spontaneous painting method and achieved further success. Eventually he was in demand from the Spanish aristocracy as a portrait painter and ultimately became painter to the king in 1786. portrait of king carlos by goya Era un observador atento de la vida y el comportamiento, y también se vio afectado por el movimiento del neoclasicismo realista del estilo rococó más idealista.
Unfortunately in 1792 he suffered total deafness following an illness and became more and more introverted. Although he was director of painting at the Royal Academy in this decade. His works reflected a more critical commentary on life and in 1799 produced some etchings called Caprichos as a satirical statement on the weakness of man. Even his religious works demonstrated a more basic realism never seen to that point. los caprichos by goya Lamentablemente, en 1792 sufrió sordera total después de una enfermedad y se hizo más y más introvertido.
His free style was not appreciated by everyone and he was even called before the Inquisition to explain his famous nude portrait The naked Maja. Further etchings were published in 1816 on bullfighting called Tauromaquia, but for the next few years he lived in isolation in Madrid. la maja desnuda - goya Su estilo libre no fue apreciado por todos y aún fue llamado ante la Inquisición para explicar su retrato desnudo famoso La Maja desnuda. His style then became more unrestricted and his darker moods were captured in the Black Paintings all over the walls of his home. black paintings by goya Su estilo se volvió más libre y su mal humor fue capturado en las Pinturas Negras por todas las paredes de su casa.
Over a long career Goya completed a whole range of paintings, drawings and engravings charting many of topical issues of the period.
