Buenos días – Good day/Good morning
Buenas tardes – Good afternoon
Buenas noches – Good evening/Good night
Adiós – Good-bye
Hasta luego – See you later

¿Qué tal? – What`s up? (how are you?)
¿Qué pasa? – What`s up? (what’s happening?)
¿Cómo estás? – How are you? (familiar)
¿Cómo está? – How are you? (formal)
Bien gracias – Well thank you
Así así – OK I guess.

Talking about occupations
Note: When you are speaking about a job in a sentence (e.g. I am a teacher), in Spanish you omit the article; therefore, soy profesor (the 'el' is omitted)

Note: there are two different words for ‘to play’:
- JUGAR is used in terms of sport (e.g. jugar al fútbol).
- TOCAR is used in terms of musical instruments (e.g. tocar la guitarra).
