KEPA JUNKERA

Kepa is one of the most famous Basque musicians. He was always interested in the accordion, called 'trikitixa' in Basque, and was so impressive as a young boy, that the top Basque group, Oskorri, asked him to join them. His natural skill and speed on the keys projected him to many awards. He has travelled widely and played with many top bands such as The Chieftains, and Carlos Nuñez. His own top-rated band have delighted audiences everywhere they perform. He uses the Basque `txalaparta` - wooden sticks beaten on planks of wood - as an interesting departure from standard instruments.
