CYCLE MEXICO
Our friend did a charity cycle Mexico in November 2009. The cycle was 479Km across the Yucatan Peninsula and he was raising money for "Children with Leukaemia".
Pat updated us at F-L-S with his progress across Mexico. Highlights of the trip included a sightseeing tour of Merida, a tour of Chichen Itza - one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, a visit to Valladolid - a charming colonial town and the trip finished by the Caribbean sea. Nuestro amigo Pat salió en bicicleta para un fin benéfico a través de México en noviembre 2009. La ruta era 479km por la península Yucatán y recaudó dinero para "Children with Leukaemia".
Pat nos mantuvo al corriente con su progreso por México. Lugares interesantes que visitó incluían una visita turística de Mérida, una gira de Chichen Itza - una de las Nuevas 7 Maravillas del Mundo, una visita a Valladolid - un pueblo colonial y encantandor, y el viaje terminó en la costa caribeña. We've so far cycled through Yucatan countryside and many small towns, visited a Monastery and cycled through the jungle. Nearly 300 km in total - we all have aches and pains in places we didn't know existed but spirits are high! |

I have been doing quite well in the group and was awarded the yellow jersey at dinner last night which was a nice surprise. |

Today is the hardest day apparently as its 80k all off road. It's also raining cats and dogs (caen chuzos de punta) so I expect we are in for an interesting day! See depth of water on photo to the right. |
