Costa Adeje

Costa Adeje is on the coast in the south of the island near the well known Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos. The region has been developed for tourists over recent decades and now offers a lot for holidaymakers. It has a selection of different areas depending on what you are looking for from your holiday. There is an excellent choice of hotels, apartments, restaurants and shops.

Probably the most central area is the Centro Commercial Fanabe. It has 3 main streets going up the small hill from the promenade. There is an excellent array of shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. Try out Coeur de filet or the adjacent Capri, they are both very good. If you like steaks, walk a little further up the hill to Calle Londres and find Gran Reserva. costa-adeje-promenade.jpg Probablemente la zona más central es el Centro Comercial Fanabe.
It has two main beaches: Fanabe beach, and El Duque beach. It is interesting how each beach varies. Fanabe is bigger and black because it is volcanic. It offers sunbeds and parasols to hire, and has many restaurants, big and small, all along the beach. El Duque beach is next to some five star hotels. The sand is golden specially imported from the Sahara. There are superior parasols in the form of palm trees and have sunbeds with comfortable cushions. On the beach there are many Thai people who offer to massage your body and feet. costa-adeje-el-duque-playa.jpg Tiene dos playas que se llama: La Playa Fanabe, y La Playa del Duque.
The Café La Bahia is one of 14 restaurants, cafés and bars in the Bahia del Duque hotel in Costa Adeje. However this café is an informal little restaurant on the promenade, and open to any customer who appreciates a nice lunch made with good ingredients and not a little inspiration. If you enjoy simple food served with elegance and style, don`t miss this little gem. It is open throughout the day until 5pm costa-adeje-cafe-bahia-del-duque.jpg (The café is the one with the parasols in the foreground - the grand architectural edifice in the background is the excellent Bahia del Duque Hotel)
The majestic Hotel Mirador del Duque grandly overlooking the playa.

If you prefer self-catering with good facilities on site, try the aparthotel `El Duque` situated on Bruselas road behind the shopping centre about 400 metres from the beach. It is very smart with many facilities and the deluxe apartments are very smart and quite large. The staff were very nice and helpful.
