APOLOGETIC PHRASES / FRASES DE DISCULPA

There are many ways to apologize in Spanish. Some of the more popular phrases of apology are listed below. Note the use of the subjunctive in many of the phrases.

 

Admito que I admit that
Espero que comprendras que I hope that you understand that
Espero que aceptes mis disculpas I hope that you accept my apologies
Siento mucho Sorry
Discúlpame pero Excuse me but
Aún sintiéndolo mucho tengo I still feel sorry
Sé que no es excusa pero I know that it`s not an excuse but
Reconozco que I recognize that
Tengo previsto pero I planned to but
Me encantaría pero I would love to but
Lamentablemente Regrettably
Tengo que pedirte disculpas I have to give you my apologies, I apologize
Perdóname Excuse me, sorry
Por desgracia Unfortunately
Tenía intención de ..... pero I meant to ..... but
Lamento mucho Sorry
Es una pena It`s a pain but
Ojalá pudiera pero I wish I could but
Siento tener que pero I regret but
